FACTS Court Watch is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting transparency, accountability, and child safety within the family court system. Since 2003, our Court Watch Program has worked to support families navigating difficult custody and timesharing cases by ensuring that court proceedings are observed and that parents do not have to face the courtroom alone.
Our work is centered on one core principle: the safety and well-being of children must always come first. Through our volunteer court watchers, we attend hearings, observe courtroom practices, and document proceedings to help bring greater awareness and accountability to the family court process.
Although our primary focus is Florida, our volunteers have participated in courtwatch efforts in courts across the country. FACTS Court Watch serves as a bridge between individuals requesting courtwatch support and the volunteers who attend hearings, creating a visible presence in the courtroom that promotes fairness and transparency.
Courtwatching has also become an important source of support for domestic violence survivors and parents involved in high-conflict custody cases. Many parents enter the courtroom feeling isolated and intimidated by the legal process. Seeing members of the community present—many of whom have faced similar experiences—helps provide reassurance, strength, and a reminder that they are not alone.
Beyond observing hearings, our organization has grown into a community of parents, advocates, and volunteers committed to protecting children and helping families navigate family court. Through our online support networks, board meetings, educational webinars, and advocacy work, we help parents connect with others who understand their experiences and can provide guidance and support.
FACTS Court Watch also works to collect data and identify patterns within the family court system. By documenting courtroom observations and elevating the voices of families, we aim to contribute to meaningful conversations about family court reform and child-centered decision making.
Our volunteers are the heart of our organization. Their dedication helps shine a light on court proceedings, support families in need, and strengthen a growing movement focused on protecting children and improving outcomes in family court.
